The Grab Bag of Questions # 26

Welcome to the Warhammer Online Grab Bag, where your friendly neighborhood community manager will answer the most popular, and most interesting, questions in a new regular feature. Many things aren't yet certain, so try to be patient with us. Trust me - we're as eager as you are to see the features finalized, so that we can hear what you've got to say.

Q: We know that in Altdorf, after taking the city, the PQs are at the Bright Wizard College and the Temple of Sigmar, then onto the King Karl Franz. What are the PQs once you take the Inevitable City?

A: The Inevitable City PQs will take place in the Monolith and The Sacellum. The Monolith is a massive floating structure with a lot of magical elements and moving parts. The Sacellum is a huge arena with edges of the crater breaking off into the distance.

Q: It was said that Karl Franz was the strongest and most difficult boss in the Empire siege. Will Warlord Tchar'zanek be equal in strength and difficulty?

A: Karl Franz would beg to differ, but yes, Tchar’zanek will be equally as difficult. The sheer size of Tchar’zanek alone is terrifying.

Q: What Dungeons will be in the Inevitable City?

A: The Inevitable City will have 3 dungeons, just as Altdorf does. They are The Sacellum, The Bilerot Burrow and The Bloodwrought Enclave. The Sacellum is a twisted dungeon containing prison cells, with the walls of the dungeon breaking off into several pieces, allowing a unique sky to shine through. The Bilerot Burrow is a Nurgle-themed dungeon that has lots of squishy elements and various intestines throughout. The Bloodwrought Enclave is a Khorne-themed dungeon. This dungeon, while Khorne-themed, has various portals that will bring players to unique places (not Khorne-themed) as they adventure.

Q: In the city, there are floating islands that are said to have content on them, some being able to jump to. Could you enlighten us with the content on these islands and if you misstep, will you fall off the edge to your "inevitable" doom?

A: You will most definitely want to watch your step or you will suffer the consequences! One such area will have players porting to places of mystery that will be visually mind-blowing.

Q: I read in one of the newsletters about the Temple of Slaanesh, how it has a very distinct look to it. I haven't heard any mention of the temples of Khorne, Tzeentch, or Nurgle, and I was wondering, do they all have their own distinct visual style, and are they all major landmarks in the Inevitable City?

A: All of the Chaos gods are represented in some fashion throughout Inevitable City. Slaanesh and Khorne are represented as Large PvP areas for players to fight in. Nurgle and Khorne are represented in city dungeon areas and Tzeentch offers the most influence throughout the main city.

Q: The cities look HUGE! Will NPCs give directions to find what you are looking for, or some other type of system like this?

A: We are looking into many ways of providing players direction within the cities. Currently players have a city world map with images on the map representing key landmarks. There are also street signs in the city that guide the player.

Q: What does that one floating purple cube thing do?

A: If you are referring to ‘The Monolith’ that massive structure plays a big role in the invasion portion of the city along with PvE content in the peaceful portion of the city.

Q: How many ranks does a city have? Does anything cool happen when the city gets to its highest rank?

Each city will have 5 rating levels total. Depending on the various city rating, certain content will only be available. Furthermore, various characters from Warhammer lore may visit at the highest city rating and offer quests to the player. For example, at city rating 5, Gotrek & Felix (from the novels) make an appearance in the Screaming Cat Tavern, and Aekold Helbrass (from the tabletop) makes an appearance in The Elysium.
