Meet the Development Team
James Nichols, Community Coordinator

1. What is it you do on a daily basis?
I am responsible for communicating with our players by relaying their feedback to development and in turn keeping the community informed of upcoming changes to the game. During Beta I am heavily involved with all aspects of communication within the team and to our testers.

2. What is your background?
After High School I started going to college for Culinary Arts, when I decided it was a better hobby than a career I got a job working in Industrial Design/Intellectual Properties. I got into fan sites (working with WHA's very own Garthilk) and eventually landed myself a job at Sigil working on Vanguard: Saga of Heroes. Shortly after the release I came to EA Mythic and the rest as they say... is history.

3. What other titles have you worked on in the past?
As mentioned above I have worked on Vanguard Saga of Heroes as the Community Manager.

4. What was your "welcome to the game industry" moment when it hit you that you were really making games for a living?
Besides being able to wear jeans to work everyday, having an arcade machine next to my cube (Final Fight 4tw!), unlimited soda, and debating over Pirates vs. Ninjas at the water cooler (Pirates hands down.) It was most likely when my boss told me to install more games on my computer.

5. What excites you about the Warhammer property? What makes it perfect for an MMO?
So many things are great about it - it's a world based on persistent conflict. It allows us to take RvR and apply it whole heartedly into the world in a way that makes perfect sense. The environments, lore, and races themselves allow us to create a world that is familiar, but at its heart an entirely new experience for MMO Veterans like myself.

6. Do you collect Warhammer figures?
Not yet! But I hope to start soon =)

7. What are your hopes/goals for the game?
My main goal for the game is to see WAR mirror the table-top game in that it's a full hobby experience. Players will engage themselves in our world for years to come interacting with each other, questing for glory, and customizing their characters with the plethora of options we provide.

8. What is the biggest problem with current MMO's you hope to fix with WAR?
I think WAR offers something more than previous MMO's. PvE and RvR are blended together in a way that makes the experience seamless and engaging on all fronts. In other games, I often find myself bored with static content and my lack of influence on the world around me. With WAR you actually change the course of history in the game as you conquest for your realms dominance.

9. What are your favorite video/computer games of all time? What games are you playing right now? What game should the reader be playing if he's not?
My favorites of all time are Lunar Silver Star Story, Chrono Trigger, Earthbound, and Unreal Tournament. Currently I'm playing EverQuest, Lord of the Rings Online, World of Warcraft, Final Fantasy XI, and of course WAR. If you haven't checked it out yet, I'd recommend Call of Duty 4 if you're an FPS fan.

10. What music are you listening to right now?
AC Duct Overture... seriously though, nothing right now, but generally I'll have some Pearl Jam, Oasis, Nirvana, etc. going.

11. Is there a recent movie you've seen that you'd recommend to others?
Juno was a great movie and Cloverfield is coming to DVD soon! My classic favorite is Pulp Fiction.
